  World Water Prize Winner Sunita Narain visited Sri Lanka  
     
     
 
Sunita Narain, Director of Center for Science and Environment (CSE) visited Sri Lanka at the invitation of the Hon. Dinesh Gunawardena, Minister for Water Supply and Drainage. Sunita Narain is an Indian environmentalist, political activist as well as a major proponent of the Green Concept of Sustainable Development. She is the Director of the Centre for Science and Environment (India) and the Publisher of the fortnightly magazine, Down To Earth.

During her visit she delivered a lecture on “The Twin Challenges of  Climate Change and Water Management: What We Need To Do” at Hector Kobbekaduwa Agrarian and Research Institute, Colombo 7.

  Out come of her visit was a tripartite agreement with the Ministry of Water Supply & Drainage, Center for Science and Environment and Lanka Rain Water Harvesting Forum to  establish a rain center  and to conduct training on rain water harvesting, waste water management and water recycling jointly with CSE.
